I'm SIMA NEWELL.
I’ve been coaching leaders privately and in executive mastermind groups since 2018. I’m a former diplomat, from Canada, living in Switzerland, and have been working internationally for 28 years.
One blocker that nearly all my clients have is around communications, persuasion and navigating office politics effectively. This is especially true for women, like me, in male dominated fields: STEM, finance, law, construction, etc.
There comes a point where women leaders who have had a great track record are suddenly labeled “too direct”, or “too much,” without clear guidance on what to do (except perhaps to “smile more”).
The women I work with are competent, high-performers who get a lot of the responsibility without the recognition and find their careers stuck or stalled, while they lose confidence on what to change to keep things moving professionally.
In 2024, I set out on a mission to support 5000 women leaders. Since then, I’ve trained hundreds of women to uplevel their communications so they can move from overlooked high achievers to becoming the confident communicators who are trusted leaders and come to mind when the next opportunity comes up.
I’m offering the Speak Up Stand Out course as a way to change the narrative and dynamic for women leaders, and to make this key knowledge accessible to people who aren’t ready to pay CHF 7’500+ for private executive coaching.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is going to be my time commitment?
The modules take about 60-90 minutes a week to watch.
The live group calls are about 90 minutes each and are optional. You could always watch the replay at your leisure or listen to the audio during your commute.
The skills and exercises are immediately applicable. And you can start practicing them with colleagues, direct reports, and even your boss right away.
Could my boss/company pay for this?
We’ve given extra time for enrolment so you can get the go-ahead from your company, if you want that financial support.
But if they don’t already have a programme in place for continued training, then you have to decide if you want to wait for others or if you are ready to invest in yourself.
When you invest in yourself, no one can take that away from you.
Many clients make the investment and then process a reimbursement from their companies.
The return on your time and money is not just for you. It’s for your team, your future, and your family as well.
Also: if you happen to have a toxic leader, the worst thing you can do is ask that person permission. You need to have a safe environment to move through this and move forward with your own career and your life.
I can’t make the live calls. Can I still do this?
I’m now offering live calls at different times to accommodate as many leaders as possible.
You can watch the training modules on demand and submit questions before the calls. In that way, you’ll still be able to get tonnes of value from Speak Up Stand Out without needing to be on every live call. Many clients have taken this approach very successfully.
I also offer private 1:1 coaching, which could be an option for you if you need different times than the live calls.
